Job Title: Warehouse Technician / Dispensing Operator

Job Description

This role focuses on staging and dispensing raw and packaging materials, maintaining a clean and compliant dispensing room and warehouse, and performing inspections and sampling of incoming materials in a cGMP environment. You follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), support accurate inventory control, and help ensure that materials are handled, stored, and documented correctly throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

• Set up the dispensing room according to SOPs and specifications outlined in the Batch Manufacturing Record.
• Document all room setup and cleaning activities in logbooks and other required paperwork.
• Dispense approved raw and packaging materials from the warehouse as per SOPs and Production Batch Records.
• Verify all information related to approved raw and packaging materials against the Batch Manufacturing Record before dispensing.
• Issue raw and packaging materials in accordance with the Batch Manufacturing Record and record issuance details in Production Batch Records, inventory cards, and other relevant documentation.
• Enforce First-In-First-Out (FIFO) practices for all material withdrawals.
• Check expiry dates and retest dates for all materials prior to dispensing and use only materials that meet requirements.
• Return materials to the dispensing room and store raw and packaging materials in their qualified warehouse locations after dispensing, as per SOPs.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of warehouse flooring, storage locations, staging areas, and the dispensing room during operations.
• Perform daily calibration tasks as required to support accurate dispensing and inventory control.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, cGMP requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
• Perform incoming raw and packaging material inspection and sampling in line with established procedures.
• Maintain SAP Material Management inventory by issuing and receiving raw materials on a daily basis.
• Apply a full understanding of SAP process flow from material receipt through to finished product shipping.
• Use SAP transaction codes (T-codes) required for material receipt, material issuance, and related inventory movements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse, production, and material management operations.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in a cGMP-regulated environment and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Knowledge of inventory control practices, including staging orders and general production support.
• Ability to enforce and work within FIFO (First-In-First-Out) inventory systems.
• Capability to perform daily equipment calibration related to dispensing and warehouse operations.
• Proficiency or familiarity with SAP Material Management for issuing and receiving raw materials.
• Understanding of SAP process flow from material receipt through finished product shipping.
• Ability to use SAP transaction codes (T-codes) involved in material receipt and issuance.
• Experience with packaging operations and handling of raw and packaging materials in a warehouse or production setting.
• Ability to lift and move drums and containers weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in confined areas and remain standing or sitting for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail in documentation, recordkeeping, and verification of material information.
• Commitment to following safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfort using computers and standard office equipment, including operating a computer and telephone keyboard.
• Ability to communicate clearly, including talking and hearing in a busy production or warehouse environment.
• Close vision capability to read labels, documentation, and computer screens accurately.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts is beneficial.
• Experience in general production or manufacturing support is an advantage.
• Familiarity with GMP facility practices and cleanroom operations.

Work Environment

You work in a GMP-compliant cleanroom and warehouse environment where personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and cleanliness is strictly maintained. The role involves regular standing, sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands and fingers to operate computers and telephones, with close vision needed for reading labels and documentation. You handle drums and containers weighing up to about 50 lbs., may work in confined areas, and spend extended periods standing or sitting. The facility operates with defined SOPs, calibrated equipment, and SAP-based inventory systems to support safe, orderly, and efficient material handling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chantilly, VA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
