Bakery Clerk
Location: Howell, New Jersey Type: Contract-to-permanent Compensation: $16.00 hourly Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday-Thursday & 8:00 AM-1:30 PM on Friday. Will be paid for 40 hour work week
Position Summary:
The Bakery Clerk is responsible for providing outstanding customer service, maintaining product displays, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the bakery is clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and assist with product selection
- Take and package customer orders accurately
- Operate cash register and handle transactions
- Slice and package baked goods
- Restock displays and monitor product freshness
- Assist with basic food prep and decorating as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and follow food safety standards
- Support team members during busy periods
Qualifications:
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
- Previous retail or food service experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for handling transactions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
