Job Summary
Seeking a Plant Modelling Engineer (PME) to develop sensor and actuator virtual models for vehicle calibration, verification, and validation across engine, transmission, hybrid, electrification, and chassis systems.







Job Title: Plant Modelling Engineer



Location: Warren, Michigan

Required Skills

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and device/controller wiring
• Experience with Simulink, including S-functions/FMU integration
• Experience with GMSIM / dSPACE virtualization environments
• Knowledge of LIN, ISO SPI, CAN, and Ethernet
• Experience with AEMSIM, Simscape, Simulink, GT Power, and SABER
• Familiarity with DOORS for interface and device/controller requirements

Preferred Skills

• MS degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Vehicle propulsion system-level knowledge
• Understanding of analog inputs, H-bridge drivers, and high-side PWM
• Knowledge of HWIO, LIN, CAN, and SENT
• Understanding of ECU, sensor, and actuator subsystem functionality
• Ability to understand software source code and models
• Git, SVN, TFS
• Teamcenter, RTC
• GCC, GDB, Eclipse, ETAS INCA

Key Responsibilities

• Develop sensor/actuator plant model architecture in Simulink or appropriate virtual tools.
• Establish interfaces for VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim environments.
• Define and execute model validation test cases.
• Perform device data acquisition and characterization.
• Manage model enhancements, releases, test cases, and technical support.
• Define and coordinate virtualization requirements across supplier, hardware, controls, diagnostics, vehicle, and propulsion teams.
• Translate vehicle calibration variations into robust model designs.
