Sr. Data Analytics Engineer

Sr. Data Analytics Engineer Under Armour seeks a senior data analytics engineer to build scalable data transformation frameworks and data products that enable decision intelligence across the enterprise. Purpose of the Role As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and implement data analytics pipelines, develop high‑quality data models, and enable automation for advanced analytics and AI use cases. You will lead complex programs, mentor junior engineers, and influence architectural direction across product decision teams. Your Impact Data Engineering & Architecture Lead data model design and semantic layer definition; build scalable ELT architecture. Design and deliver advanced data models, automation workflows, and decision‑intelligence solutions. Create high‑quality analytical datasets and visualization‑optimized data structures. Quality, CI/CD & Operational Excellence Own CI/CD deployment pipelines and release management processes. Drive engineering best practices including testing, observability, modular modeling, and documentation. Optimize Snowflake warehouse performance, cost efficiency, RBAC, and semantic layer design. Lead root‑cause analysis and long‑term fixes for complex data issues. Leadership & Collaboration Mentor junior engineers and elevate engineering maturity across squads. Facilitate stakeholder sessions to translate business requirements into scalable data products. Influence architectural decisions and emerging‑technology adoption. Partner with EDMA, AI/Automation, Platform, and Governance teams. Responsibly manage on‑call support and proactive monitoring of the EDMA platform. AI Enablement Apply generative AI tools to streamline development workflows and enhance product quality. Contribute to the design of AI‑enabled automation solutions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with typically five years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with typically three years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience without a degree. Expert SQL abilities with mastery in complex data transformation patterns. Deep expertise in data modeling, ELT design, and enterprise data architecture. Proven ability to design scalable data apps, automation pipelines, and decision‑intelligence solutions. Four years of experience with Tableau or a similar analytics platform. Five years of dbt experience or equivalent in modular modeling, testing, documentation, governance. Two years of experience and strong background in CI/CD engineering best practice. Five years of Snowflake experience, including warehouse optimization, RBAC, cost/performance engineering, and semantic layer design. Advanced Python for automation, orchestration, and engineering workflows. Working knowledge of automation tools such as Elementum. Strong capability to influence architecture, mentor peers, and drive emerging technology adoption. Responsible application of generative AI to accelerate development and improve quality. Experience with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, Cortex Code. Skilled at bridging the gap between technical depth and business clarity through impactful communication. Workplace Location Must reside within commuting distance of our Baltimore, MD headquarters. Periodic on‑site attendance may be required. Travel minimal. Not eligible for sponsorship. $125,000.00 – $165,000.00 USD
