Forklift Operator

Description

The schedule for this position is 6:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday - Thursday, some overtime may be required on Fridays. The starting pay rate is $20/hour.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Efficiently and safely moves materials and inventory within the manufacturing facility via stand up forklift.


MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Supports manufacturing production lines with parts as production dictates.

• Assists shipping and receiving departments in moving, locating or retrieving needed parts/supplies.

• Assists in picking parts if necessary

• Processes returns as restock items or vendor returns to stock.

• Assists Cycle Count Coordinator as workload dictates.

• Empties all garbage containers and appropriate refuse containers.

• Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.

• Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

• High school education or equivalent
• At least 1 year of previous forklift experience.
• Personal computer experience --Ability to work accurately with numbers and details
• Demonstrated ability to handle varied projects
• Must possess strong organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively,
• Ability to complete projects with general instructions and within time constraints.
• Ability to consistently and efficiently perform assigned duties.
• Demonstrates Northern Tool + Equipment's 12 Core Competencies.

• Frequently required to stand, sit, walk.
• Ability to speak and hear verbal instructions.

• Ability to frequently lift up to 10 pounds.

• Work at heights of up to 35 feet.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision and the ability to adjust focus.
