This role requires maintaining clinical and professional competency appropriate to the ages, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served./ph3Essential Functions/h3ulliParticipate in patient assessments by determining nursing care needs based on relevant data collection and interpretation./liliRecognize and determine the need for immediate intervention./liliDocument patient observations, treatments, and responses to treatment utilizing the nursing process./liliParticipate actively in treatment and assist with procedures./liliAssist with the development and revision of the care plan by providing data and identifying potential goals and interventions for review by the RN./liliCommunicate with the appropriate clinical staff on the status of a patient if a significant change has occurred./liliImplement the identified plan under the supervision of the RN, ensuring tasks are completed./liliStay aware of patient progress and goals as demonstrated by documentation in medical records./liliOrganize workload and prioritize responsibilities to ensure quality patient care is delivered efficiently./liliAttain knowledge and competence that reflect current nursing practice and perform only those nursing skills within legal boundaries and facility policies and procedures./liliDocument assessments, procedures, patient/family education, and communication of information to appropriate healthcare team members in a timely manner./liliProvide and assess the effectiveness of patient and family education under the direction of the registered nurse within the scope of practice as defined by law./li/ulh3Physical Requirements/h3pThe role requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. The applicant must have an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, finger dexterity, critical thinking, and the ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and unit conditions.
