Pharmacy Packing Clerk

The Pharmacy Packing Clerk is responsible for verifying, scanning, and packing prescriptions in bags for delivery and sorting them in appropriate bins.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Organizes and sets up work area with bags and staples.
• Scans prescriptions, verifies scan with prescription name and number with receipt.
• Packs prescriptions, add medication information in bags, and verifies with receipt.
• Places batch label on the outside of the bag and add any necessary stamp and/or sticker for special instructions.
• Places all file only, discontinued and/or duplicate prescriptions in return bin or give to a pharmacy personnel depending on availability.
• Places all prescription that will go out in the mail in US mail tote.
• Maintains working area clean and neat at all times.
• Reviews daily scan and packing productivity reports.
• Reports issues or concerns to supervisor and/or director.
• Takes all returns back to the Refill Center.
• Ensures conveyors, appliances and lights are off at the end of the work day.
• Ensures that the facility is kept clean, neat, safe and secure at all times.
• Communicates any maintenance issues immediately.
• Wears a complete uniform and keeps a clean and neat appearance during working hours.
• Demonstrates courtesy and politeness to patients, visitors and other employees.
• Maintains open channels of communication with center administration and other company departments.
• Answers all inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
• Participates in training and in-service education as required.
• Complies with Company policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Participates in department, clinic and other meetings as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
