Job Summary Abbott Northwestern Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our 12‑bed Neurological Intensive Care Unit. This specialized ICU cares for complex medical and surgical neurological patients requiring continuous, intensive monitoring and expert care. Key Position Details Tier1: 9months of Critical Care/ICU RN experience required. Tier2: 1year of Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience required. Tier3: New Graduate – completion of an ICU capstone or ICU rotation as a nursing student or experience in the ICU setting as a NA/other patient‑care role is required. New graduates will be part of the Abbott Northwestern Critical Care New Graduate Pipeline Program. .9FTE (72hours per two‑week pay period). 12‑hour night shift. Every 3rd weekend. Responsibilities Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; supervising the progress; and modification of the plan of care as needed. Maintain education and competencies to remain proficient to provide high‑quality patient care practice and skills. Incorporate evidence‑based nursing practice taking into consideration current statutes, rules and regulations when developing the plan of care. Establish, in collaboration with the family and patient, realistic and measurable patient expected outcomes based on nursing diagnoses, patient present and potential capabilities, goals, available resources and plan for continuity of care. Identify outcomes that are age appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable. Coordinate, collaborate, and delegate appropriately to ensure care is provided in a safe, effective fashion. Fulfill all organizational requirements. Supplemental roles: Charge Nurse (only when acting in this role): Demonstrates ability to coordinate, delegate, and direct unit operation, collaborates effectively with unit staff, leadership and other disciplines. Preceptor (only when acting in this role): Demonstrates ability to identify the orientee's learning needs, plans appropriate learning experiences and validates clinical competence of orientee. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate's or Vocational degree; 2 to 5years RN experience (Required). Preferred: Bachelor’s degree; 0 to 2years critical care RN experience. Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required if working in state of MN upon hire. WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required if working in state of WI upon hire. Must meet at least one of the following: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross. Allina in‑house BLS training within 30days of hire. Allina in‑house ACLS training required upon completion of orientation. ACLS/BLS Tier3 – Multisource required if working in rapid response or code teams. Certified Critical Care RN – AACN preferred. RN‑C in appropriate specialty preferred. SCRN Stroke Certified RN preferred. Physical Demands: Medium. Work: lifting weight up to 32lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25lbs. frequently. Pay $44.64 to $74.33 per hour. Starting rate depends on experience, education, union agreement if applicable. Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase pay.
