Salary: $17.00/hr

Express Employment is looking for a Grader.

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM/4:30 PM - 3:00 AM (who can work both shifts)

Pay: $17/ Hour ($0.25 is the shift differential)

Job Description:

Grading duties vary by role, including but not limited to:

• Probe trailers and assess rice quality using lab equipment.
• Maintain logs in Excel and report out-of-spec findings.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment.
• Inspect product packaging and labeling.
• Grade samples at set intervals and maintain detailed Excel records.
• Created and managed retained samples and USDA/phytosanitary documentation.
• Perform trailer inspections and ensure compliance with GMP standards.
• Verify shipment information and assist with loading logistics.
• Maintain records and apply trailer seals.
• Perform hourly quality checks at five locations.
• Monitor moisture and log tank/bin data using Excel.
• Report quality concerns to Millers promptly.
• Handle unique rice varieties and blends.
• Grade for additional factors (hydration, scarification, etc.).
• Maintain precise records and coordinate sample shipments.

Requ irements:

• Start on day shift but may transfer to swing (maybe grave) so need to be open to a rotating schedule
• High school diploma or GED
• Age 18 or older
• Basic computer skills (Excel proficiency preferred)
• Ability to perform physical tasks (e.g., lift 40 lbs., stand for extended periods)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication
• Bilingual would be a plus
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed
• Must follow GMPs, OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF standards.
• Actively support food safety and quality verification processes.
• Participate in reviews and updates to the food safety system.
• Work involves indoor and outdoor environments, including stairs and uneven surfaces.
• Exposure to noise, dust, odors, rice by-products, and food-grade chemicals.
