(USA) Manager, Quality Control

Position Summary Sam’s Club is a division of Walmart Inc. This role effectively oversees the quality, freshness, and food safety of grocery products within a distribution center, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement. What you’ll do Oversee quality, freshness, and food safety of grocery products in a distribution center. Inspect inbound fresh produce, floral, poultry and meat for adherence to Sam’s Club specifications. Participate in company‑wide initiatives to control costs and deliver high‑quality products to Sam’s Club members. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while supporting the mission, values, and ethical standards. Oversee Seafood Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan. Oversee Sam’s fruit ripening program. Oversee cold‑chain compliance to keep products at proper temperature. Communicate fresh‑product quality to merchant groups and other stakeholders to improve perishable-product quality. Interface with vendor community regarding quality of products received into Sam’s Club Distribution Centers. Impact Areas Make decisions about numerous product processes daily, shaping quality for Sam’s Club members. Build relationships with suppliers, merchants, replenishment teams, and club operations. Apply product knowledge across all Fresh departments and continuously learn to broaden expertise. Collaborate on product specifications, processes, and initiatives to advance Fresh quality. Generate, analyze, and provide feedback to merchants and partners, using performance data to identify improvement opportunities. Minimum Qualifications 3 years of supervisory experience. Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, food science, or related field and 2 years of experience in agricultural quality control, agronomy, food retail management, OR 4 years in the same field. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including starting at 12 am on any day. Ability to work in a 34–54 °F environment on the floor. Preferred Qualifications

1. 2 years of experience in vendor management, food safety, or a related field.
2. 3 years of poultry or meat industry experience, preferably quality related.
3. years of retail produce inspection or USDA inspection experience.

2 years of fruit ripening experience. 6 years of experience in agricultural quality control, agronomy, food retail management, or related field. 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office.
