This position involves direct patient interaction, including preparing patients for examinations, recording vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures. The Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, managing appointment schedules, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare professionals. By efficiently handling both clinical and clerical duties, the Medical Assistant contributes to delivering high-quality patient care and enhancing overall patient experience. This role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented individual who can work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program. * Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred or in progress. * Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures. * Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting. * CPR and First Aid certification. * Familiarity with insurance billing and coding processes. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure. Responsibilities: * Greet and prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs and medical histories. * Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor procedures. * Manage patient records by accurately entering and updating information in electronic health record systems. * Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up visits as needed. * Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, processing insurance information, and handling patient billing inquiries. * Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment. * Educate patients on medication instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up care as directed by healthcare providers. Skills: The Medical Assistant utilizes clinical skills daily to prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist with procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Administrative skills are essential for managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and handling insurance documentation accurately. Effective communication skills enable the Medical Assistant to interact compassionately with patients and collaborate efficiently with healthcare providers. Organizational skills help maintain a clean and compliant clinical environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Additionally, proficiency with electronic health record systems and medical software supports accurate data entry and streamlines workflow within the healthcare setting.
