Fire Protection Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Fire Protection Engineer to support a high-impact healthcare infrastructure environment within the military health system. This individual will act as a technical leader responsible for designing, evaluating, and overseeing fire protection systems across complex facilities. The role combines design engineering, compliance oversight, and field execution, ensuring all systems meet stringent healthcare and federal safety standards. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in fire protection design, thrives in a regulated environment, and can effectively communicate technical findings to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders. Must-Haves Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering 10+ years of hands‑on fire protection experience in healthcare environments At least 3 years of recent experience (within the last 4 years) Direct experience with design, maintenance, or major repair of fire protection systems Strong knowledge of: Healthcare compliance standards (Joint Commission, DoD, AHJ requirements) Ability to lead projects and solve complex engineering problems independently Experience preparing: Construction documents, schematics, and engineering reports Hydraulic calculations and system specifications Plusses Professional Engineer (PE) License – Fire Protection (highly preferred) Advanced expertise across all major fire protection systems Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar CAD/BIM tools Strong knowledge of federal, state, and municipal codes Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills Experience supporting DoD or federal healthcare projects Day-to-Day Lead fire protection engineering efforts across healthcare infrastructure projects Design and review systems : Fire alarms, suppression systems, detection systems Create detailed engineering deliverables : Plans, specs, calculations, material lists, and reports Conduct life safety and code compliance evaluations Perform field inspections and site assessments Support commissioning and functional system testing Partner with project managers to ensure compliance and project success Respond to technical RFIs per codes and DHA standards Evaluate project designs based on : Code compliance, Effectiveness, Lifecycle cost Travel to project sites for inspections and reporting Deliver clear and concise technical reports for both engineers and non-technical stakeholders #J-18808-Ljbffr
