Azure DevOps Engineer

Job Description

Kavaliro is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer for our client with strong Microsoft Azure experience to help build, automate, and support secure, highly reliable cloud environments. This person will have a direct impact on how infrastructure is deployed and managed, with a strong focus on automation, CI/CD, scalability, and overall system performance.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually


Location: San Francisco Bay Area - Hybrid preferred


Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.


What You'll Be Responsible For

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep
• Build and support scalable Azure environments, including Virtual Machines, AKS, App Services, and Azure Functions
• Establish and maintain effective monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights
• Apply cloud security best practices across identity, access management, networking, Key Vault, and other Azure services
• Partner closely with software engineering teams to improve deployment processes and make releases more efficient and predictable
• Identify opportunities to increase automation, improve reliability, and reduce cloud infrastructure costs

What You'll Bring

• Strong, hands-on experience designing and managing infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
• Proven experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Practical experience with Terraform; experience with ARM or Bicep is also valuable
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, ideally with experience supporting Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Strong scripting and automation abilities using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar technologies
• Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, identity, and access management, including Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD)

Additional Experience That Would Be a Plus

• Experience designing or supporting multi-region and highly available cloud architectures
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and integrating security into development and deployment processes
• Relevant Azure certifications, particularly Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
• Experience with FinOps, cloud governance, or Azure cost optimization
