Help make a difference in your community by working as a Security Officer with Per Mar Security Services! The selected individual will patrol and secure assigned premises. The Security Flex Officer will also work at various assignments and may be called upon to work with little to no advance notice to cover call offs, vacation leaves, and/or extra coverage requests. You may also perform other duties as specified in post orders.The ideal candidate will be flexible with scheduling, be dependable, have excellent customer service skills, have great oral and written communication skills, and have a positive attitude!Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields helpfulFamiliarity with security equipmentAbility to handle physical workloadStrong attention to detailMust have a high school diploma or GEDMust be at least 21 years of agePass a background check and drug screenEssential Functions and Responsibilities:Stand guard at security officer post, directing visitors, issuing access badges, and providing escorts as necessary.Log visitor data and other basic reports in security computer system.Conduct foot patrols in accordance with post orders.Respond to alarms and emergencies as directed in post orders.Look for and report potential safety hazards.Follow all client site specific duties, as required and outlined in post-orders.Work additional hours when necessary – fill open shifts, as needed.Adhere to the highest standards of ethical business conduct and compliance by acting lawfully, ethically, honestly and professionally in the performance of their jobs at all times as well as be in compliance with company policy and procedures as it relates to their job function.Assume responsibility for understanding and complying with Per Mar Security Services attendance expectations.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting with the Per Mar Security Services internal/external customers (including, but not limited to: current customers, prospective customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, supervisors and management) in a mutually respectful manner regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation and all other protected classes.When appropriate, inform customers of Per Mar Security Services of products and services and refer business to appropriate department.Position Requirements:High School Diploma/GED21 years of age or olderPrevious experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fieldsFamiliarity with security equipmentAbility to handle physical workloadStrong attention to detailMust possess the values important to Per Mar Security – Integrity, Communication, Excellent Service, and Accountability.Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ALL SHIFTSWILLING TO TRAVEL THROUGHOUT CHICAGOLAND AREA & SUBURBS IF NECESSARY$20 an hourBenefits: Medical Insurance, Life Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, 401K/403b PlanThis is a As Needed position 1st Shift, 2nd Shift .Travel is required frequently Per Mar Security Services
