Centurion is proud to be the provider of dental services to the Florida Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at Apalachee Correctional Institution- West Unit located in Sneads , Florida. The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Essential Duties:
- Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
- Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
- Operating radiographic equipment
- Administrative tasks as needed
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or 12 months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
- Certified Dental Assistant license and/or Expanded Dental Assistant Certificate or ability to obtain one required within first 6 months of employment
- Florida Radiograph Certificate, or ability to obtain one required within the first 6 months of employment
- Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation preferred, or willing to obtain one upon hire
- Certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or willing to obtain one upon hire
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
