Join Albuquerque Ambulance Services (AAS) as a SkillBridge Paramedic and become a vital part of New Mexico's leading emergency medical team!

This opportunity is available exclusively to Active‑Duty Service Members approved to participate in the Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge Program.

The SkillBridge Paramedic opportunity is designed for Active‑Duty Service Members who are separating or retiring from the military and are seeking a civilian paramedic career within a mission‑driven healthcare organization.

Through hands‑on, supervised experience, participants will:

• Gain familiarity with local protocols and participate in patient care in a high volume EMS system with great educational and onboarding support
• Get a jump start on field training and onboarding within our organization with the goal of future employment.
• Focus on the clinical portion of the role and utilize your full scope of practice as a Paramedic.

This SkillBridge fellowship may last up to 180 days , in accordance with DoW SkillBridge guidelines. Participants remain on active duty and continue to receive military pay and benefits throughout the program.

Work Schedule: (3) 13-hour shifts or (4) 10-hour shifts in Days, Nights, or Swings

• Onsite gym at AAS, accessible 24/7 and discounted gym memberships citywide
• All in-house CEs required for NM state licensure and National Registry
• All in-house carded classes (i.e. BLS, ACLS, etc.)

How you support the community.

• Provides prehospital 911 emergency care and/or Inter-facility transportation for injured and/or ill patients within ABC EMS Protocols .
• Documents and maintains accurate medical records for patient encounters through use of ImageTrend Elite.

Qualifications:

• MUST BE ACTIVE‑DUTY MILITARY TO QUALIFY

• New Mexico Paramedic license required NM EMS Bureau (Reciprocity easily obtained from another active state license)
• Must have current ACLS and BLS through AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross
• Must be up to date with FEMA 100, 200, 700 courses
• Must obtain medical examiner certification/DOT certification as part of on-boarding.
