RN PreOP PACU Days - Shea

Primary City/State: Shea Medical Center – 9003 E Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. Position Registered Nurse – OR Pre‑Op/PACU Shift Evening shift: 10:30PM – 2:30AM Key Requirements • Minimum 2 years of experience in Pre‑Op or PACU (open to ED or ICU experience). Responsibilities Apply ANA Standards for Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics in all patient care activities. Gather and document patient history, symptoms, diagnostic test results, and medication administration. Operate medical equipment, administer treatments and medications, and manage IV lines. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, ensuring continuity and family‑centered approaches. Teach patients and families about illness management, post‑treatment care, diet, nutrition, exercise, and medication administration. Provide direction and support to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides, delegating tasks appropriately. Precept new staff and students, guiding them through competency development. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and evidence‑based practice implementation. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care. Document all observations, interventions, and therapeutic measures in retrievable forms. Essential Functions Collect health data systematically, prioritizing critical needs. Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop evidence‑based care plans. Initiate treatments, medications, and emergency measures following standing orders. Evaluate patient progress, document outcomes, and update care plans as necessary. Maintain current nursing practice knowledge, ethical principles, and cultural competency. Collaborate on professional development, peer relationships, and research activities. Advocate for patient safety, effectiveness, and cost‑efficient care delivery. Education Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing required; BSN completion within 60 months of hire for Diploma or ADN holders, or 5+ years of RN experience at time of hire. BSN preferred. Experience At least 10 months in med‑surg or acute specialty setting. Minimum 1 year RN experience for all float positions. Licensing & Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (state or compact). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Unit‑specific certifications as required by specialty area. National certification for unit‑specific patient population (upon hire).
