Join the #VTeamLife.What you’ll be doing...Verizon is seeking Unified Communications Engineers to support UC Engineering and Operational support on the US Navy NMCI UC Infrastructure. The Unified Communication Engineer will serve as subject matter expert OPS support and Service Delivery within Navy Enterprise VoIP, VTC and general Unified Collaboration support. Candidate will utilize a broad knowledge of unified communications, network, server, and telecommunications to design, configure, implement and troubleshooting of Navy’s unified communications systems and applications. Responsibilities include Tier III resolution and support Tier IV, varying implementation projects, troubleshooting and resolving problems.Responsibilities will include:Working as part of UC Team to maintain enterprise Cisco voice, video, presence systems.Understanding the codecs, protocols of Cisco and Ribbon technologies.Implementing of Cisco / Ribbon gateways.Helping with basic Network troubleshooting.Creating, maintaining and updating documentation of voice/video systems.Supporting IP communication networks in operations.Mentoring and developing junior personnel.What we’re looking for...You’ll need to have:Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain it.Located near a NAVY base (i.e. San Diego or Norfolk, etc)DOD 8570 Compliant - Security+Federal Gov or Military Agency experience in Telecom spaceCisco CCNP Collaboration / Ribbon Technologies (preferred) or related experienceFour or more years of in-depth experience supporting Cisco and Ribbon UC and Collaboration Product SuiteExperience with Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection Server,Cisco Video Communication Server (VCS), Cisco Telepresence MCU Chassis, CiscoMeeting Server (CMS) CUCM IM and Presence Services, Cisco Unified Attendant, CiscoEmergency Responder, Cisco Prime, Cisco Telepresence Management (TMS)Experience with Session Border Controllers, Ribbon SBC / RAMP / AnalyticsProven experience and solid understanding of SIP and PRI circuitsEven better if you have one or more of the following:Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science/Information technology.Strong knowledge of networking principlesExcellent testing and troubleshooting skillsStrong verbal and written communicationExceptional documentation skills to clearly articulate technical designs, issues and constraints, procedures and network assessments.If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.If you believe this job posting is missing information required by the Virginia wage or salary range transparency law, please report it via View email address on click.appcast.io.
