Join us in making a real difference in the health of our community.Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in delivering comprehensive psych care to patients, working closely with an interdisciplinary team in both long-term care and acute settings.This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients while growing professionally within a supportive, mission-driven environment.Responsibilities• Provide psychiatric consults for residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities• Conduct mental health assessments for conditions including depression, anxiety, dementia-related behaviors, schizophrenia, and mood disorders• Evaluate cognitive status and behavioral symptoms• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects• Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, social workers, and nursing teams• Develop behavioral management plans to improve quality of life and reduce hospitalizations• Provide counseling and education to patients, families, and caregiversQualifications• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility (Hospital/outpatient office experience will also be considered)• Active and unrestricted NP license • DEA license required • CPR certification (BCLS/BLS)• Master's degree in Nursing (NP applicants) or• Graduation from an accredited NP program• Preferred: Experience in Psych (training available if not)• Preferred: Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Sigma, Visual, PCC – training provided)• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skillsEqual Opportunity EmployerEssen Health care is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we seek candidates who desire to work in and serve an ethnically diverse population.
