Responsibilities Peraton requires Systems Architect to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3. Position is located in Tampa, FL.The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.Peraton is seeking a highly experienced Senior Linux Systems Architect to join our team supporting the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Information Environment (SIE) under the SITEC III EOM contract. This role is crucial for maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of the IT infrastructure supporting USSOCOM's mission. The selected candidate will work onsite at MacDill AFB, providing advanced expertise in Red Hat technologies and ensuring the seamless operation of critical systems.Key Duties:Red Hat Systems:Design, implement, and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite for configuration management, patching, and system provisioning.Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades to Red Hat systems to ensure they are current with the latest security features and firmware.System Security:Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect Red Hat systems from vulnerabilities and threats.Monitor system logs and security alerts to identify and mitigate security incidents and ensure compliance with government and DoD regulations.Conduct regular security assessments and audits to maintain the integrity and security of the Red Hat environment.Operational Support:Provide tier 3 support for Red Hat system issues, including troubleshooting complex technical problems and coordinating with other IT teams to resolve incidents.Develop and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident response plans.Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for Red Hat systems.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with network engineers, system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of Red Hat technologies.Provide training and mentorship to junior system engineers and other IT staff on Red Hat technologies and best practices.Participate in regular meetings, briefings, and discussions with USSOCOM leadership and other stakeholders to provide updates on system status and project progress.Technical Knowledge: System Design and Architecture: Deploy, configure, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise Linux server environments with supporting experience in Windows Server platforms.• Adaptability Across Applications: Support, manage, and troubleshoot a wide variety of enterprise applications, and services, ensuring compatibility, reliability, and optimal performance across environments.• Performance: Analyze, optimize, and troubleshoot system and application performance issues across Linux and Windows environments.• Security: Implement and maintain system security controls including hardening, access controls, patch management, audit logging, secure configuration baselines, and compliance with DoD security requirements.• Identity & Access Governance(IGA): Experience with identity platforms and IGA solutions (such as SailPoint or similar).• Collaboration: Work effectively within cross-functional teams and coordinate with administrators, engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and other stakeholders across multiple time zones.• Communication: Communicate technical information clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical audiences. Capable of producing clear documentation and written communication.• Problem Solving: Analyze complex technical challenges and develop innovative, scalable solutions aligned with organizational needs.• Continuous Learning: Maintain a continuous learning mindset and stay current on emerging technologies, system administration best practices, and evolving security standards.• Preferred Skills: Experience with supporting technologies including Red Hat Identity Management, Active Directory/Entra ID, Active Roles(ARS), DNS, PKI, Kerberos, automation tools (bash, PowerShell etc.). Qualifications Required Qualifications:Min 12 years with HS Diploma, 10 years AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA degreeA DoW TS/SCI clearance is requiredDoW 8570.01-M IAT IIMust be DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 451 – System Administrator - Intermediate level or higher.Proficient in using Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, and other automation tools for configuration management and system provisioning.Strong understanding of Linux system administration, including user management, networking, and security.Experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM and VMware.Extensive hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic team.Desired Qualifications:Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) ORLPIC-3 Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
