Lead Finish Carpenter / Working Foreman

Donatelli Builders, Inc. is a luxury custom home builder and high-end renovation company serving discerning homeowners throughout the Chicagoland suburbs. We are hiring a Lead Finish Carpenter / Working Foreman who is not only highly skilled with tools, but also ready to lead by example on luxury residential construction and renovation projects. This is a working role for someone who understands how to build correctly, solve problems in the field, communicate clearly, and help raise the standard for the entire team.

The right candidate will be comfortable working hands-on every day while also helping coordinate the jobsite, support team members, maintain quality standards, and contribute to a professional, client-focused building experience. Qualified candidates will complete a video interview as the first step, and selected candidates may then be invited to interview in person.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality carpentry work on luxury custom home and renovation projects
• Lead and support field team members while maintaining a productive, professional jobsite
• Read plans, understand project details, and execute work with precision and care
• Help ensure work is completed according to Donatelli Builders' standards for quality, cleanliness, and best practices
• Communicate clearly with team members, subcontractors, and leadership
• Use JobTread or similar construction management software to keep project information organized and up to date
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Identify issues early, offer practical solutions, and help keep projects moving forward
• Represent the company with integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential carpentry experience required
• Strong hands-on carpentry skills and proven ability to work with tools daily
• Experience leading others or serving as a working foreman preferred
• Ability to read plans, problem-solve in the field, and maintain high craftsmanship standards
• Comfortable using technology and willing to work within JobTread; JobTread experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
• Must value dedication, integrity, transparency, effective communication, attention to detail, and best practice mastery
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation required
• Must have your own basic tools; larger company tools may be provided as needed

Pay and Benefits

• Full-Time. W-2 Employment
• $40.00 - $45.00 per hour, based on experience
