Inspector

The Inspectors inspects and purchases non-ferrous materials coming in to be in compliance with specifications. Major job responsibilities include maintaining a safe work environment, examining customer materials to determine the ferrous commodity, inspecting products to determine compliance with company specifications, using a computer kiosk to purchase the ferrous material, stamping mark of approval or rejection on product, and writing reports of examination. Other duties may be assigned.

Job qualifications include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to speak and understand English is required.

The physical demands include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; talking or hearing; walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
