Staff System Engineering Program Manager

Engineering Program Manager – Hardware PMO We are looking for an Engineering Program Manager to join our global Hardware PMO team. Candidates located on the West Coast are preferred for collaboration with San Francisco and San Diego teams (minimum 1 trip per month). The role requires global travel to contract manufacturers and other Oura offices. Responsibilities Coordinate and lead the work of hardware engineering teams: electrical, mechanical, firmware, system test and hardware compliance. Lead the engineering team to identify milestones and deliverables, identify critical path and dependencies within and across teams. Scope work and inform program‑level milestones including launch targets. Interface with hardware engineering leadership for program reporting and strategic guidance. Collaborate with PMO colleagues and program leaders across the company. Proactively address issues and obstacles impacting program timelines; unblock the team and accelerate when necessary. Lead NPI build activities—ensure product maturity and launch readiness through Prototype, EVT, DVT, PVT builds and validation. Drive third parties to deliver against Statements of Work, when applicable. Contribute to BOM creation and technical specifications. Drive engineering risk analysis and mitigation planning. Plan program resourcing with Hardware team leads. Oversee engineering change management. Advocate program excellence, keeping the team focused on delivering on time and in scope. Address conflict and foster a collaborative, open communication environment. Lead improvement projects and refine existing product development processes. Mentor other team members. Qualifications 10+ years experience across the end-to-end product development process: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Firmware, System Test, Manufacturing and Supply Chain. Experience with complex products using new or challenging technology integration. Knowledge of workflows and dependencies within and across engineering disciplines. Previous experience leading a product through NPI phases to scaled mass production, including factory builds (SMT and FATP). Experience with phase‑gate development model, defining entry/exit criteria and maturity. Experience structuring and executing Design of Experiments (DOE). Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, SmartSheet. Knowledge of project management best practices and ability to develop new processes and workflows. Knowledge of PLM systems such as Team Center or Arena. Desire to learn, accept challenges. Travel up to 25‑30 % time. Benefits Competitive salary and equity packages.
