Position Overview Job Title: US Government & Public Affairs Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President Location: Washington, DC The Assistant Vice President of US Government & Public Affairs at Deutsche Bank is a role within the global Government & Public Affairs (G&PA) team, reporting to the Head U.S. Government Affairs. As an AVP, you will work to enhance Deutsche Bank’s presence and influence in Washington, DC and the broader U.S., through monitoring and tracking legislative and regulatory policy debates and proposals with the goal of supporting regulatory adherence. You will help arrange briefings delivered across the team, assist in developing DB positions and responses to selected public consultations on key policy issues, participate in consistent policymaker and regulator interactions, and contribute to trade association input. You will also communicate key policy developments within Deutsche Bank and support internal stakeholder education regarding implications. What We Offer You A diverse and inclusive environment that embraces change, innovation, and collaboration A hybrid working model, allowing for in-office / work from home flexibility, generous vacation, personal and volunteer days Employee Resource Groups support an inclusive workplace for everyone and promote community engagement Competitive compensation packages including health and wellbeing benefits, retirement savings plans, parental leave, and family building benefits Educational resources, matching gift and volunteer programs What You’ll Do Providing information and analysis to identify and raise awareness of new and changing laws and regulations covering new or amended rules and regulations issued by Congress, the Bank’s regulators and other relevant policy-making bodies Acting as Deutsche Bank’s center of expertise on important national, regional, and international legislative and regulatory proposals and policy developments and providing analysis and intelligence for key clients on relevant issues Supporting the drafting of position papers, internal and external presentations, to advance understanding of issues Connecting legislative, regulatory, and government relationship matters to key business issues Providing support to the team to assess impacts of regulatory changes Providing input to the development of Deutsche Bank’s advocacy strategy on key issues to relevant official sector bodies Skills You’ll Need Detailed understanding of the US financial markets and its regulatory structure Prior experience working as congressional staff, ideally within the Democratic Party, strongly preferred The ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize time to ensure tight deadlines are met Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced degree preferred Skills That Will Help You Excel Excellent written and oral communication skills The ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize time to ensure tight deadlines are met An appetite to digest significant amounts of information quickly and identify what is important The highest level of integrity and professionalism, be detail‑oriented, and able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment Creativity, strong analytical skills, and business acumen are essential, along with being nimble and solutions‑oriented Expectations It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Washington, DC office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model. The salary range for this position in Washington, DC is $100,000 to $153,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
