Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a fast-paced Adult Emergency Department, managing more than 100,000 visits a year. As one of the busiest trauma centers in the country and the only Level I trauma hospital in the area, this role is essential for providing care to a diverse patient population with various diagnoses. The nurse will specifically be responsible for the care of med/surg boarder patients within the ED.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to med/surg boarder patients within the Emergency Department.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5 with the support of assistive personnel.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes in status.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State RN License required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience.
• Telemetry experience required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHSS certification is highly desired but not required.

Schedule

This position involves rotating shifts that include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
