Behavioral Health Technician

Location: Salem, VA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 18:45 - 07:15 with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Job Description: As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will provide direct care and support to adult and adolescent patients in a behavioral health setting. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct observation rounds and monitor patient conditions.
• Assist in managing patient safety and milieu management.
• Perform vital sign checks and monitor glucose levels using glucometers.
• Participate in group therapy sessions and educational programs.
• Conduct patient and belongings searches as required.
• Utilize Meditech for electronic health record documentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Prior experience in behavioral health or a related field is essential.
• Must have current CPI and BLS certifications.
• Proficient in manual blood pressure and EKG procedures.
