About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its national nonprofit organization, which is dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of Black professionals and other underrepresented communities across aviation and aerospace. The successful candidate will be responsible for the organization's mission, strategy, financial sustainability, and operational effectiveness. This role requires a transformational leader who can honor the organization's legacy while strengthening its foundation, expanding and diversifying revenue, and preparing it to serve the aerospace community for decades to come. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, manage a professional staff, and oversee the organization's programs, technology, and administration. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include organizational leadership, team management, board governance, fundraising, financial stewardship, and external relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in executive leadership, with a proven track record in organizational operations, people management, and budget oversight. Experience in fundraising and revenue development, particularly within a membership-based or nonprofit organization, is highly valued. The role also demands exceptional communication skills, the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships, and a commitment to the organization's mission of expanding access and representation in the aerospace industry. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree being welcomed, and the candidate should be prepared to work remotely and travel as needed.
