Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step-Down

Location: Neptune, NJ 07753
Job Type: Contract – No Benefits
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM | 3 × 12-Hour Shifts/Week | 36 Hours/Week
Weekends: As Needed
Holidays: As Needed
On-Call: None

Pay Rate

Local: $57–$61/Hour, Based on Experience
Travel: $63–$68/Hour, Based on Experience

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit within a major acute-care hospital.
• Strong Medical-Surgical and Telemetry background required.
• Neuro experience required.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Post-cardiac surgery experience preferred.
• Post-surgical experience preferred.
• 5 years of experience preferred.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Active New Jersey RN license or multi-state compact RN license required.
• BLS-AHA certification required.
• ACLS-AHA certification required.
• NIHSS certification required.
• Telemetry certification/experience required.
• CEU Contact Stroke – 4 hours required.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify priorities for care.
• Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs, acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions.
• Provide care to patients in Cardiac/Vascular & Post-Surgical Step-Down and Neuro-Surgical Step-Down environments.
• Care for patients with complex medical, surgical, cardiac, vascular, and neurological conditions.
• Monitor patients closely and recognize changes in clinical status.
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns when necessary.
• Provide evidence-based, safe, and patient-centered nursing care.
• Document patient care in accordance with applicable standards of practice and clinical priorities.
• Manage and monitor ventilated patients as required.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Float to comparable units within the nurse's competency and scope of practice as needed.
