Community Care ME

Job Description

Job Description

The Family Integration Specialist (FIS) is a key member of the treatment team, providing therapeutic support to children and youth who required specialized residential or community-based behavioral health services. Working collaboratively with foster and birth families, Case Coordinators, Program Managers, therapists, and other professionals, the FIS helps assess each child's developmental, social, emotional, and behavioral needs and supports the implementation of individualized treatment plans.
The primary responsibility of the FIS is to build safe, supportive, and therapeutic relationships that promote each child's growth, stability, and success. Through consistent, trauma-informed interactions, the FIS teaches and reinforces healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and positive social behaviors during everyday routines and structured therapeutic activities. The FIS creates opportunities for children to practice new skills in real-life settings while providing guidance that is consistent with each child's individualized plan of care.
The Family Integration Specialist fosters a positive therapeutic environment by modeling professionalism, respect, and empathy in every interaction with children, families, colleagues, and community partners. The FIS is expected to uphold the organization's mission, values, and treatment philosophy while contributing to a collaborative, child-centered approach to care.
