Warehouse Specialist - 2nd Shift

Description Location : Southern Mill – Athens, GA Job Family : Specialist Reports To : Warehouse Manager Exemption : Non-Exempt Position Purpose : The Warehouse Specialist supports CCBC by ensuring that all inventory inside the four walls of the production facility is present and accounted for, and in peak condition. For raw materials, the process starts when product is unloaded and continues until it is put away. For finished goods, the process starts when raw materials are pulled from storage to staging and continues until the finished goods leave the facility for a distribution center. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday – Friday 1:00pm to 9:00pm. Duties and Responsibilities Inventory, Storage, and Movement Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy. Use FIFO (First In, First Out) to rotate products, ensuring older stock is used first to maintain product freshness and minimize waste. Manage the storage and movement of raw materials and finished goods within the warehouse. Optimize organization of inventory to maximize space and efficiency. Coordinate with other departments to meet production and distribution needs. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review documentation related to shipping and receiving functions. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and receipts. Generate scheduled reports and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Material Handling Operations: Operate power lifts, hand trucks, carts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning. Assist in loading and unloading of goods, ensuring accurate and timely movement of materials. Daily Warehouse Operations: Execute daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, transfers, and inventory control. Ensure all shipments are accurately picked and dispatched on time. Receive and inspect incoming goods, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders. Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols. With training, operate the box truck for transfers between locations. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or warehousing preferred. Forklift certification required. Proven experience in warehouse operations, including inventory management and material handling. Proficiency in operating power lifts, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors. Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as required. Physical Requirements Must be able to continually lift 65 pounds and move 175 pounds regularly and repeatedly. Must have the ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel and crouch. The ability to work near moving parts and machinery. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus and the ability to see color; either with or without accommodation.
