Job Summary Support Institute's efforts to provide a safe, respectful environment for all campus community members by conducting and managing investigations of harassment based on certain protected categories, as well as ADA/504 grievances, and Title IX/sexual misconduct complaints, received by the office of Equal Opportunity, Compliance, and Conflict Management. This role will plan and conduct investigations, as well as document and present results of investigations in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and requirements. This position will interact on a regular basis with Georgia Tech (GT) management and leadership, students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position typically will advise and counsel students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position will supervise: N/A. Responsibilities Conduct timely, objective, and thorough investigations of discrimination, discriminatory harassment, retaliation and other claims filed with the office of Equal Opportunity, Compliance, and Conflict Management, including claims of sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and retaliation involving faculty, staff, and students. Responsible for all aspects of the investigation process, including developing an investigation plan; identifying relevant parties, witnesses, and evidence; interviewing parties and witnesses in compliance with the appropriate investigative process; identifying University and related policies and conduct codes relevant to allegations under investigation; writing clear, thorough, and unbiased initial and final investigative reports; and other related duties. Continuously identify and integrate best practices for managing and conducting Title IX and sexual misconduct investigations by keeping abreast of current developments in the field. Create and maintain accurate and thorough records and notes, ensuring a well-documented investigative process and timely record keeping and communication utilizing a case management system. Collaborate with on and off campus resources including law enforcement and victim services in resolving complaints; work with department leadership to ensure the University's processes, responses, and policies are consistent with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Assist in development and implementation of training programs for faculty, staff and students. Participate in hearings and other administrative processes related to the adjudication and resolution of complaints as necessary. Assist in the identification of trends and patterns of disparate impact and treatment across campus. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Four to five years of job‑related experience. Preferred Qualifications Title IX and/or Civil Rights certifications. Juris Doctor Degree. Five or more years of job‑related experience. Proposed Salary The proposed salary for this position is $74,966-$100,000 commensurate with education and experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to understand the needs of the Institute and to work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff; proficiency in office and specialized computer applications. Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations, case law, and guidance related to identity‑based discrimination, harassment, and bias in the educational and employment setting, including Title II, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADEA. Skills in formal investigation and interview techniques, including data collection, preparation, analysis and drafting of investigation reports; strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills; ability to handle confidential situations with compassion, sensitivity and diplomacy; and ability to act in an objective and impartial manner at all times.
