Locums - Lexington, Kentucky NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity

Clinical Role

Seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locums Cardiothoracic Surgery opportunity in Lexington, Kentucky. Provider must be proficient in first assisting with CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy, and lung resection cases. Responsibilities include OR, telemetry, and ICU coverage.

  • April 3-11, 2027
  • May 11-28, 2027
  • Ongoing dates TBD
• Weekday Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-7:00 pm with night call from 7:00 pm-7:00 am
• Call: Approximately 1-2 call days per week and 1 weekend per month
• Weekend Coverage: 24-hour coverage from 7:00 am Friday-7:00 am Monday
• Weekend Duties: Inpatient rounding, procedures, and surgical coverage
• Setting: Inpatient and OR
• Duties/Procedures: Cardiothoracic surgery, surgical first assist, vein harvesting, and chest tube placement
• Surgical Volume: Approximately 1-2 surgeries per day; current volume is relatively low
• EMR: Epic
• Requirements: Board Certification, active Kentucky license, ACLS, BLS, and DEA required
• Malpractice History: Clean malpractice history preferred
