Job Details Job Location: Brazosport - Lake Jackson, TX 77566 Position Type: Part Time Education Level: Associates Degree Salary Range: $16.54 hourly Job Category: Education Job Purpose The SSC Writing Coach at Brazosport College is responsible for providing part‑time support to students in developing their writing skills. This role involves guiding students through various stages of the writing process, offering constructive feedback, and fostering an environment that encourages learning and improvement. Key Responsibilities Assist students in understanding and applying writing techniques across different genres and formats. Provide individualized feedback and guidance to students to enhance their writing abilities. Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify student needs and tailor writing support accordingly. Conduct workshops and seminars focused on specific writing skills and strategies. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of writing standards and practices to ensure students receive current and relevant advice. Encourage students to develop critical thinking and self‑editing skills. Track student progress and provide reports to faculty on student development and areas for improvement. Foster a supportive environment that respects diverse perspectives and learning styles. Qualifications Required Education – Completion of Literacy Related Courses with a GPA of 3.0 or higher Required Knowledge – Composition & Rhetoric Required Experience Experience in teaching, tutoring, or academic coaching. Experience working with diverse student populations in a higher education setting. Required Skills and Abilities Strong command of English language and grammar. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to students. Proficient in using educational technology and online learning platforms. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
