CT Technologist

Job Summary:

The Level 2 CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic CT imaging procedures with a focus on patient safety and accurate documentation. This role involves preparing and positioning patients, coordinating with physicians, and maintaining imaging records using EPIC and PACS systems. The technologist must be skilled in safe patient handling and maintain a clean, safe scanning environment. This position requires at least two years of CT experience, NYS licensure, and certification through the ARRT, with experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center preferred. Responsibilities:

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to scans following department policies.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging services.
• Prepare patients for CT scans and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort.
• Insert IVs when necessary for imaging tests.
• Position patients safely, including lifting or moving patients with limited mobility using safe patient handling techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient records in EPIC, including image identification and proper transmission to PACS.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility environment.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current NYS Radiologic Technologist license (must be obtained prior to starting).
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Minimum of two years CT experience.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Injection therapy certification on license or willingness to complete during orientation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Knowledge of Philips and Siemens CT equipment.
• Telemetry experience.
• Patient and compassionate disposition.
• Teamwork skills to maintain a cohesive working environment.

Special Considerations:

• On-call and callback responsibilities including holidays and occasional weekends.
• Must be willing to complete TB skin test if required.
• Must adhere strictly to patient safety protocols and department procedures.

Scheduling:

• Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM EST shifts.
• Evening shift with weekday schedule.
