Job Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including physical assessments and in-depth medical history reviews
- Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions through evaluation of imaging tests and laboratory results
- Work collaboratively with surgeons to develop and implement individualized surgical treatment plans
- Provide support during surgeries, including preparing the OR, ensuring proper patient positioning, and passing instruments
- Offer exceptional care before and after surgery, handling medication management, wound care, discharge planning, and patient education
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Strongly preferred completion of clinical rotations emphasizing surgical practices
- Current and unrestricted PA-C certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications necessary
- Necessary state licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
- In-depth understanding of surgical techniques and sterile practices
- Demonstrated capacity to interpret diagnostic evaluations and support complex clinical decisions
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Capability to excel in dynamic and high-stakes environments, especially during surgeries
- Empathetic bedside manner and a profound respect for the dignity and autonomy of patients
