Now Hiring a Maintenance Generalist at the YMCA General Function The Maintenance Generalist will travel across the Association and help maintain all local YMCA Buildings, equipment, and grounds safe, in good repair and clean. Education, Experience, Training & Certifications High school diploma or equivalent (minimum) 4 years of work and background in facility maintenance Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, Microsoft Office, Google suite, and a work order/purchase order system Experience operating and maintaining a large aquatic environment (preferred) Valid Driver’s License required Benefits FREE Family Membership & Discounted Access to Programs Flexible Scheduling Family‑friendly Work Environment Employee Assistance Program & Retirement Plan Paid Time Off and 10 Paid Holidays Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and AD&D Insurance Short‑term/Long‑term Disability and Flexible Spending Account Job Duties & Responsibilities Act as a handyman for the facilities by performing routine maintenance, including repairs on the branches and equipment such as doors, windows, pool equipment, furniture, and exercise equipment. Have the mechanical ability to complete maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, changing light bulbs, carpentry, painting, and custodial responsibilities. Store deliveries in their proper storage areas as they arrive. Landscaping and snow removal. Pool operation and maintenance such as cleaning, chemicals, and equipment management. Assist with maintenance, repair, and cleaning of exercise equipment. Perform routine maintenance on vehicles as per weekly inspections, review driver logs, and maintain vehicle records. Supervise housekeeping and day porters. Perform other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor. Abilities & Skills Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Ability to exert physically over long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, or reach with arms and/or legs.
