Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Emergency Room License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Minimum of 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience - Ability to float between multiple facilities Description: The position is for an Emergency Room Nurse. Emergency Room Nurses are expected to perform in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Nurses will need to demonstrate competency in various skills including Foley catheter insertion. Maintaining a sterile field is crucial. The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. The unit has both acute and subacute care beds, with trauma bays available. Common patient diagnoses include trauma, burns, and pediatric cases. Psych holds are also a noted part of the emergency room workload. There is an expectation of 4 weekend shifts per month. Nurses will need to navigate an electronic medical record system efficiently. Collaborative care teams include various healthcare professionals. Advanced support services will be available 24/7. Float assignments may occur between sister facilities. Nurses will receive floor-specific orientation prior to starting on the unit. Any candidates not competent in required skills may not be a good fit for this role. The hospital allows for cancellations of shifts under specified guidelines. Candidates must have the required certifications to be considered for this role.
