Position Overview Asset Protection Specialist – responsible for protecting guests, merchandise, and the store through surveillance, intelligence‑led tactics, and rapid response to reduce theft and shortages. Pay Range Starting pay: $24.25 – $26.25 per hour. Full range: $24.25 – $41.25 per hour. Pay depends on labor market, education, work experience and certifications. Responsibilities Use Target’s video surveillance system to monitor shoppers and identify potential theft risks. Implement Assets Protection practices to reduce and prevent shortages. Document and report cases accurately and effectively. Analyze theft trends using technology, reporting, and surveillance tactics. Respond to security incidents and complete required documentation per AP policy. Promote a physical security and safety culture by training staff on safe and secure standards. Maintain positive relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement. Participate in legal proceedings as needed to represent Target’s interests. Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs. Qualifications Minimum age 18 or older. High school diploma or equivalent. Compliance with state or local licensure and other legal requirements. Excellent interpersonal skills and a welcoming attitude toward guests and teammates. Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices, operate handheld scanners and related technology. Strong written and verbal communication. Capability to work independently and in a team, prioritizing tasks and managing workload. Calm under pressure and capable of performing multiple tasks within established timeframes. Physical & Additional Requirements Regular use of ladders and climbing. Ability to apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy. Capacity to handle and move merchandise up to 40 pounds without assistance. Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and environmental conditions. Mobility throughout a scheduled shift. Shift length may vary. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping periods.
