DefinitionUnder general supervision, teaches one or more classes in the field to students in grades 6 through 12, assists in other school programs as assigned, and creates a flexible program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth in accordance with each student’s ability.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlans, organizes, and presents instruction and provides instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development.Teaches how technology systems interact with our world related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics concepts (robotics, infrastructures, etc.).Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.Develops instructional plans and organize a class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and working time.Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities.Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior required to provide an orderly and productive studio environment.• Instructs students in proper care and use of materials and equipment, storage areas, and controls the use of materials and equipment to prevent loss or abuse.Evaluates each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and understanding, and prepares progress reports.Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.• Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.Cooperates in school-wide supervision of students during out-of-classroom activities.Participates in faculty and/or District committees and the sponsorship of student activities.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to meet the needs of all learners.Ability to plan, coordinate, and continuously improve instruction.Ability to motivate students.Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment.• Ability to analyze situations, determine possible options, and make appropriate decisions based on the facts.Ability to develop and compile records and reports.Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom.Ability to operate common office machines.Ability to maintain basic files and records.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.• Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information.Includes receiving instructions, assignments, and/or directions from superiors.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.• Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with emergency situations.Ability to exercise considerable tact and courtesy in frequent contact with the public.Requires the ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions.Skilled in assessment and using its data for teaching and learning.Understanding the growth and development of assigned students.Experience with Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).Minimum Education and ExperienceMinimum of Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university in one of the following areas: .
