Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The PACU RN will provide specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. This role involves monitoring patient vitals, managing anesthesia recovery, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the post-operative period.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' condition and monitor vital signs continuously during recovery.
• Administer medications and interventions as prescribed to manage pain and prevent complications.
• Document patient progress and intervention outcomes accurately in Epic charting system.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to determine patient readiness for discharge.
• Respond promptly to any patient emergencies or adverse reactions in the post-anesthesia setting.

Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio RN license or compact state RN license required.
• Minimum of 18 months PACU experience in a surgical or outpatient setting.
• Active ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Experience with joint procedures, hand, general surgery, urology, endoscopy, and orthopedic surgeries preferred.
• Proficient in Epic charting and ECG rhythm recognition.
