What You Will Be Doing
The Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is recruiting for an Information System Coordinator to join the division's Data Team in Juneau. If you have experience working with confidential case management databases and are interested in part of a dynamic and innovative team, please continue reading!
The Information Systems Coordinator:
- Coordinates the design, updating, enhancing, testing and training of DJJ staff on all DJJ applications.
- Works closely with the Data Processing Manager, user community, software vendor, JOMIS advisory Group and DJJ management as the subject matter expert for JOMIS and Incident Tracker applications.
- Coordinates and manages the JOMIS Advisory Group membership, sets meeting agendas, records minutes of the meetings, manages enhancements and tracks the budget.
- Coordinates communication via email, telephone, in person computer meetings, and written guidance to the DJJ application user community for issues related to system administration, data quality and accuracy, standardization, and adherence to division policies and procedures.
- Provides application information administrative assistance to the Data Processing Manager and Data Team.
- Manages the creation and updating of all user accounts and access privileges for DJJ applications and coordinates access for our justice partners in addition to DJJ personnel.
- Manages and responds to JOMIS Help Desk requests.

- Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of the principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional and infrastructure requirements; includes translating functional requirements into technical requirements used for logical design or presenting alternative technologies or approaches.
- Stakeholder Management: Knowledge of the concepts, practices, and techniques used to identify, engage, influence, and monitor relationships with individuals and groups connected to a work effort; including those actively involved, those who exert influence over the process and its results, and those who have a vested interest in the outcome (positive or negative).
- Technology Awareness: Knowledge of developments and new applications of information technology (hardware, software, telecommunications), emerging technologies and their applications to business processes, and applications and implementation of information systems to meet organizational requirements.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Training in information technology, business analytics, business information systems, operations management, or similar field and experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, or maintaining IT systems, or assisting in transitions to new technology.
Special Note:
Some positions may require the incumbent to have/obtain and maintain certification in some combination of Lean/Six Sigma/AGILE, CompTIA Project+, MPM, Waterfall, or similar project management methodologies and curricula. These requirements will be specified in the recruitment bulletin and supporting position description.
Competencies means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.
Typically gained by means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
Training means the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom, on-line, self-study, and on-the-job), from accredited and unaccredited sources, and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs.
Professional experience means work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the power or right to decide or act according to one's own judgment.
Progressively responsible means indicating growth and/or advancement in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility.
