Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) Nurse Days Deaconess Gateway. This role involves providing quality patient care on a 34-bed cardiac renal unit specializing in post-cardiac procedures, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, and behavioral health. The position requires strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and experience with electronic charting systems.

Job Details

• Certifications: Current active compact license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Education Requirement: Associate Degree or Certificate.
• Experience Requirements: Two years of strong cardiac and telemetry experience, including one travel assignment, and trauma level II experience.
• Location Requirements: No specific location required other than the provided work sites.
• Years of Experience: 0.0 years (minimum experience required).
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, 36 hours per week.
• Additional Responsibilities: Recent Epic charting experience required (will include a checkoff class).
• Patient Population: Post-cardiac procedure patients, A-fib RVR, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, tracheostomies, nephrostomy tubes/CBI/renal biopsy, behavioral health/detox.
• Skillset: Telemetry and 12-lead EKG interpretation, recovery of heart caths, PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, drip management (cardiac and other medications), CBI, detox/CIWA protocol experience, central line care. Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Float to Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus and potential float to Deaconess Henderson (KY).
• Additional Information: Shifts and hours are guaranteed, with some flexibility upon request. Every other holiday and three weekends out of six are required. No Covid-19 vaccine is required at this time.
