Product Engineering Manager - Turbine Airfoils - Asheville

Job Overview Pratt & Whitney – Hot Section Engineering – Associate Director (Airfoil Manufacturing Facility, Asheville, NC). This role leads a cross‑discipline team of engineers providing technical leadership and production support for the Asheville casting and machining product line. Responsibilities Build, lead and develop a cross‑discipline engineering team. Provide engineering support for Asheville casting and machining product line, including technical leadership and production support. Support the full life cycle of parts produced in the AVL plant: executable key deliverables for producibility improvements, non‑conformance dispositions, field event responses and investigations, identification of product improvement changes, and execution of class I engineering changes. Provide support for both existing and new product design technologies. Facilitate integration between the module‑owning Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs), part‑responsible Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO), Asheville Operations, and Quality. Maintain strong connectivity with HSE Turbine Airfoil discipline leadership and chiefs (East Hartford, CT) for technical capability advancement and alignment of product design standards with field findings. Engineer support of Model Based Definition, Manufacture and Inspection (MBDMI) enabling deployment at Asheville. Required Qualifications BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of relevant work experience, or an advanced degree with 10+ years of experience. Product design experience including team leadership roles with production introduction and product life‑cycle responsibilities in the aerospace or aerospace manufacturing industry. U.S. citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications Broad understanding of turbine airfoil design and manufacturing (casting, machining, coating) with 5+ years of relevant experience. Proven track record of leadership, innovation, and initiative. Supervisory experience of product design team members. Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels. Project management experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines and manufacturing. Ability to build positive relationships across the internal customer base.
