Forklift Operator | Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Operator (Team Lead) to oversee and participate in the loading and unloading of pipe products in a warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, with strong leadership skills to direct a small team of warehouse associates to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment to load and unload pipe products from trucks, trailers, and storage racks.
• Lead, train, and coordinate a team of warehouse associates in daily loading/unloading operations.
• Ensure team follows safety procedures and complies with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy in quantity, quality, and condition.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and report discrepancies to management.
• Communicate clearly with drivers, dispatch, and warehouse management regarding job requirements and timelines.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
• Monitor and enforce housekeeping standards in the loading/unloading areas.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift operating experience.
• Experience handling large and heavy materials such as steel or plastic pipe is highly preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed.
• Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
• Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions

• Work performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise.
• Must wear appropriate PPE (e.g., steel-toe boots, safety vest, gloves).
