Certified Nurse Midwife

Southwest Midwives is a private, midwife-owned practice in beautiful Southwest Colorado. We attend births at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, including waterbirth and VBACs. The right candidate will feel comfortable in a rural setting (no 24-hour in house anesthesia or OBGYN), have excellent time management and communication skills, and work well as part of a small team. Experienced midwives preferred, but we would consider a new graduate for a fellowship position. Overview Join our group of three full time and two part time midwives delivering between 200-250 clients annually. Opportunity to care for women through full scope of practice providing evidence based care and informed decision making to both low and moderate risk pregnancies. First assist training upon hire. Supportive environment with other experienced midwives and strong collaborative relationship with our OBGYN group. Rotating call schedule with great work-life balance. Shared 1:4 call. Typical week schedule is one 24 hour call shift and one 8 hour clinic day. Example schedule can be provided. Call can be taken from home when there are no active labor patients at the Family Birth Center. Benefits include Base salary depending on experience. Quarterly bonuses based on joint practice productivity (no RVUS) and overall performance. Opportunities for additional hourly pay as desired.
