Senior Controls & Calibration TechnicianSerán is seeking a Senior Controls & Calibration Technician to serve as the site subject matter expert (SME) for instrumentation, control systems, and low-voltage electrical systems supporting pharmaceutical development, laboratory operations, manufacturing processes, facility utilities, and future site expansions.This position is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of process instrumentation, control panels, PLC-based systems, facility automation platforms, and low-voltage electrical systems. The role acts as the technical lead for instrumentation standards, and control panel design while ensuring compliance with GMP requirements and engineering best practices.The Senior Controls & Calibration Technician partners with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, Quality, Validation, and external integrators to develop scalable automation solutions that improve reliability, operational efficiency, and future manufacturing capacity.Duties & ResponsibilitiesControls, Automation & Electrical Systems LeadershipServes as the site technical lead for instrumentation, controls, and low-voltage electrical systemsDevelops and maintains site instrumentation specificationsEstablishes and drives the long-term control maintenance strategies for manufacturing, laboratories, utilities, and facility equipmentReviews and approves control system instrumentation and control panel designs developed by equipment vendors, system integrators, and engineering firmsPartners with engineering teams to ensure scalable and maintainable automation solutions are implemented across the siteControl Panel Design & Electrical SystemsLeads the review, and modification of control panels and low-voltage electrical systems supporting manufacturing and utility operationsAssist in the development and review of the following implementations:Control panel layoutsField instrument specifications Wiring diagramsElectrical schematicsI/O schedulesDevice and panel specificationsSupports the construction, modification, testing, and commissioning of control panelsPerforms troubleshooting and maintenance of low-voltage electrical systems up to 480VAC and associated control circuitsCoordinates with licensed electricians, contractors, and engineering firms on electrical installations and upgradesEnsures compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company engineering practicesProvides technical oversight of field wiring, instrumentation installation, panel fabrication, and control system integration activitiesInstrumentation & Calibration Program OwnershipOwns and continuously improves the site's calibration programDefines calibration methodologies, standards, frequencies, and criticality-based maintenance strategiesServe as SME for:Pressure instrumentationTemperature instrumentationFlow measurement systemsHumidity and environmental sensorsLoad cells and weighing systemsProcess analytical instrumentationHVAC monitoring systemsUtility instrumentationLeads troubleshooting and impact assessments for out-of-tolerance calibration eventsReviews and approves calibration procedures, work instructions, and technical documentationPLC, HMI & Automation SystemsSupports field troubleshooting on PLC platforms such ExperienceBachelor's or technical degree in engineering, automation, or applicable mechanical discipline preferredRequires a minimum of 5 years' experience within a federally regulated industryPreference given to candidates with the following:ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST)UL 508 Technician CertificationCertified Calibration Technician (CCT)Electrical License or Limited Maintenance Electrician experience preferredExperience designing control panels and industrial automation systemsExperience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and GMP environmentsExperience with capital project execution and commissioningFamiliarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, ISA standards, and GMP requirementsPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting or
