Part Time Groundskeeper MaintenanceStew Leonard's, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Our Grounds Maintenance Team Member helps keep our outdoor areas clean, safe, welcoming, and looking their best throughout the season.This is a hands-on outdoor position responsible for maintaining the landscaping and overall appearance of the store grounds. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, can work independently, and has experience with landscaping and grounds maintenance.What You'll DoMaintain landscaped areas throughout the property, including lawns, plants, shrubs, flower beds, and mulched areas.Perform general lawn and landscape care, including trimming, weeding, mulching, planting, watering, and seasonal cleanup.Safely operate landscaping equipment such as gas-powered weed trimmers, leaf blowers, and other lawn-care equipment.Keep exterior areas clean and inviting by picking up trash, leaves, branches, and other debris.Help maintain the overall appearance of the property so our grounds are ready to welcome customers each day.Identify areas that may need additional maintenance or attention and communicate concerns to management.Follow proper safety procedures when using equipment and completing outdoor work.Assist with other grounds and property-maintenance needs as assigned.What We're Looking ForPrevious landscaping, lawn care, or grounds maintenance experience required.Knowledge of basic lawn and plant care, including appropriate plant types, mulching, planting, and general landscape maintenance.Comfortable safely operating lawn and landscaping equipment.Strong work ethic and attention to detail.Dependable, honest, and flexible.Able to work independently with minimal supervision while also working well as part of a team.Friendly and courteous when interacting with customers and fellow Team Members.Good verbal communication skills.Valid driver's license required.Working Conditions & Physical RequirementsThis position works primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and light rain.Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical activity throughout the shift.Must be able to safely lift and/or move up to 70 lbs. as required by the position.Must be comfortable working with outdoor landscaping equipment and performing physical work for extended periods.Why This Role MattersOur grounds are one of the first things customers see when they visit Stew Leonard's.
