Minimum Qualifications/Job Requirements: Education: Bachelors Degree Required Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc: Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Mild/Moderate or Severe/Profound Special Education and Elementary Education. Duties and Responsibilities: Teaches corecurriculum tostudents inthe classroom, usingstandardsadopted by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and Sapulpa's Board of Education and any other appropriate learning activities as supported by the district/site adminstration. Actively participates in integrating technologyresources into the curriculum for student learning. Develops and implements IEPs by maintaining a compliance rating of 100% consistent with district requirements. Develops lesson plans and instructional materialsto provide individualized and small group instruction inaccordance with student goals and objectives as outlined in the IEP. Participates in transition planning and preparation for adult life experiences. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others, demonstrate self-disciplineand initiative, follow state and district guidelines. Workseffectively with a team comprised of paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, parents, and district administrators with the purpose of providing quality educational services for each student. Establishes rapport with pupils and provides a pleasant, safe, and orderly climate conducive to learning. Establishes standards ofstudent behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Completes documentation and charting required to measure progress on student IEPs and prepare progress reports. Evaluatesstudents academic and social growth and keeps appropriate records. Communicates with parents through a variety of ways to discussstudent progress and interpret the school program. Interacts with students, staff and parents in a positive and professional manner. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth activities. Participate and complete yearlyde-escalation training to promote positive interactions with students. Other duties as assigned by the site administrator(s).
