Audit Manager

Audit ManagerThe Audit Manager leads audit, review, and assurance engagements from planning through completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with professional standards and firm methodology. This role is responsible for coaching and developing engagement teams, managing client relationships, and proactively identifying and communicating risks, issues, and value-add insights.Key responsibilitiesLead engagement planning, staffing, budgeting, and scheduling; ensure scope alignment and timely executionSupervise and review audit fieldwork, workpapers, and deliverables; ensure adherence to firm and professional standardsManage client relationships and communication; lead status meetings and coordinate PBC requests and issue resolutionPerform and conclude complex audit areas and judgmental accounting topics; consult with partners/technical resources as neededCoach, develop, and evaluate team members; provide real-time feedback and facilitate trainingContribute to practice initiatives (methodology, tools, knowledge sharing, business development) as assignedKey accountabilitiesHigh-quality engagement files and deliverables that meet standards and pass internal/external reviewEngagements delivered on time and within budget with clear documentation of key judgments and conclusionsStrong client service experience with proactive communication and expectation managementEffective team leadership: clear delegation, coaching, and performance feedbackConsistent adherence to independence, confidentiality, and firm policiesKey results / expectationsIndependently manages multiple engagements and competing deadlinesDemonstrates strong technical accounting and auditing judgment with well-supported conclusionsBuilds and maintains trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholdersDevelops team capabilities through coaching, delegation, and structured review notesAnticipates risks and escalates issues early with recommended solutionsSkill / knowledge requirementsStrong understanding of GAAP and auditing standardsAudit documentation / workpaper software (CCH Engagement)Ability to plan and execute audits across multiple industries with appropriate risk assessmentProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; comfort with data analysis and audit technology toolsStrong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skillsPeople management skills: coaching, delegation, feedback, and conflict resolutionProfessional experience requirements5+ years of public accounting audit experience, including experience leading engagementsCPA licensePrior experience supervising and developing staffCompensation & BenefitsThe total rewards package at Current includes base salary and benefits.
