LVN Clinic Nurse

Job Summary:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in an outpatient clinic setting provides professional nursing care focused on disease prevention and health maintenance. The LVN collaborates closely with clinical and front office staff to support patient and family needs, applying clinical judgment and maintaining effective communication. This role requires current LVN licensure and CPR certification, with an emphasis on patient education and proficient use of computer systems. Responsibilities:

• Provide professional nursing care and support in an outpatient clinic environment.
• Emphasize disease prevention and health maintenance in patient interactions.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, front office personnel, and other departments to coordinate patient care.
• Assist with patient education and instruction regarding health and treatment plans.
• Utilize clinical judgment to plan work, prioritize tasks, and maintain flexibility in care delivery.
• Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records using computer systems.
• Maintain current CPR certification and adhere to clinical protocols and guidelines.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license or interim permit.
• Graduation from an approved Licensed Vocational Nursing program with an associate degree or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to apply clinical judgment and establish work priorities.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Competency in computer usage for documentation and communication.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in outpatient clinic or similar healthcare settings.
• Ability to instruct and teach patients and families effectively.
